Locked Chest in the Dark Basement Meaning & Interpretation

"I walked down a set of narrow wooden stairs into a dark basement. Low pipes hung from the cold concrete ceiling. I reached the bottom step and looked around. The air was damp, and a single light bulb flickered above my head. In the corner sat an old wooden chest. I tried to open it, but a heavy iron lock held it shut. I pulled on the chain with all my strength, but it would not break. It made me so mad. Why was this locked away from me? I picked up a heavy rusty pipe and smashed it against the lock again and again. Sparks flew into the air, but the lock did not break. I slammed my fist into the stone wall and yelled into the dark. Then, I woke up with my heart pounding."
