"I was inside a terrifying dream. I stood in the middle of a busy city street on a gray afternoon. Suddenly, a deep rumble echoed from far below the earth. The solid ground began to roll and shake wildly under my feet. Tall brick buildings swayed back and forth in the sky. Glass windows shattered into thousands of tiny pieces that fell to the sidewalk. Deep cracks opened up in the concrete roads like giant black jaws. Sirens started to wail in the distance as dust filled the thick air. I tried to run to a safe place, but the hard ground kept throwing me off balance. People were running and shouting all around me in total panic. A massive streetlight snapped in half and crashed onto the pavement right next to me. My heart beat frantically in my chest as the whole world shook out of control. I felt completely powerless against the force of the powerful quake."
