"It wasn't even one of those dreams where you see a positive test or deal with doctors. I was just suddenly walking through my old middle school hallway, except the floor was covered in wet river stones, and I was heavily pregnant. Like, ready-any-second pregnant. The weirdest part was how heavy and warm my stomach felt. It didn't feel like a movie prop or a vague dream concept-it had actual weight, and every time I took a step, I had to rest my hands underneath it to support myself. There was this intense, glowing sense of quiet inside me.
