The snake in the house and the heavy Legs

"I was walking through a place I did not recognize, but somehow I felt like I needed to get home. The ground suddenly became wet, and a green snake slid out from under some leaves. It looked at me and started moving closer. I wanted to run, but my legs felt heavy, like they were stuck in mud. Then the snake was suddenly inside my house. I grabbed a long piece of wood from somewhere and hit it. I remember being scared but also strangely angry. The snake kept moving even after I hit it, and for some reason I knew I had to finish it. I hit it one more time and it finally stopped. I stood there breathing hard. When I looked again, the snake was gone, but there was a long dark mark on the floor. I woke up wondering why killing it had felt so important."
