Floating through the quarry of time

"I was lying flat on my back in the middle of a massive, still quarry filled with warm, turquoise water. The sky above was this soft, pale pink like right before sunset, and I wasn't even paddling or kicking—my body just floated effortlessly, like I weighed nothing at all. I had this gentle, quiet feeling in my chest that I was waiting for a phone call from an old neighbor, but the water was so calm that I didn't care if the phone ever rang. Then suddenly I was floating down a shallow, crystal-clear stream that ran right through the hallway of my childhood home. My shoulders were drifting past the wooden doorframes, and small green leaves were floating right alongside my arms. I could hear a clock ticking somewhere down the hall, but it sounded slow and distant, like time had completely loosened up. I closed my eyes and just let the gentle current push me along through the dark living room, feeling completely safe and totally at rest."
