"I saw my ex in a crowded place, and somehow I knew I needed to talk to him. I walked over and said his name, but he acted like he didn't hear me. I followed him through a hallway, calling his name again. He kept walking without looking back. I felt embarrassed because other people were watching, even though nobody actually seemed to care. Then suddenly we were sitting at the same table. I was trying to tell him something important, but he was staring at his phone. I reached across the table and touched his arm, and he finally looked up. For a second I thought he was going to say something. Instead, he stood up and walked away. I found myself outside a house I didn't recognize. His car was in the driveway, but when I knocked on the door, nobody answered. I woke up with that awful feeling of being ignored, even though I knew it was only a dream."

True closure does not come from his acknowledgment but from your own willingness to stop chasing and start grieving. When you accept that some doors will never open, you free yourself to find the ones that will.
