"I was sitting on the floor of my childhood bedroom trying to pack a duffel bag for a trip I knew I was already late for, though I had no idea where I was going. I opened the bottom wooden drawer of my nightstand to grab a pair of socks, but inside, the entire wooden bottom was squirming. It was packed full of tiny, pale white maggots squirming over each other in a thick, squishy layer. A wave of intense, sickening revulsion hit me right in the chest, and I scrambled backward across the carpet. Suddenly I was standing in my current kitchen trying to cook dinner, but when I picked up a wooden spoon from the counter, the tip was completely covered in those same crawling white worms. I tried to shake them off into the trash, but my arms felt heavy and slow, like moving through molasses. I couldn't stop them from dropping onto my bare feet on the cold tile, and I stood there frozen, completely terrified to move or make a sound until I snapped awake sweating."

Core Theme

"This dream reflects a deep-seated fear of hidden contamination and the paralysis that comes when the familiar turns against you. The maggots represent neglected responsibilities or unresolved emotions that have been left to fester in the dark, now surfacing in everyday moments. Your inability to escape or clean them suggests a feeling of being overwhelmed by forces you cannot control, and the shift from childhood to current home indicates that these issues are not confined to the past but persist into your present life."
