"I was in a yard that felt like a mix of my grandparents' place and somewhere else entirely, and a rooster was standing on top of a car that definitely shouldn't have been parked in a garden. It kept staring at me, chest puffed out, and then crowed, except it was far too loud, and everything else just stopped, birds, wind, all of it. I tried to walk past it and it followed, strutting a few steps behind me like it had a point to make. kept asking it what it wanted, out loud, which felt completely normal in the moment, and it just tilted its head and crowed again. The light was wrong, kind of gray-gold like early morning but also somehow evening, and I couldn't tell if I was supposed to be waking up or going to bed. Someone called my name from the house and I turned, and when I looked back the rooster was gone, car too. I stood there trying to figure out what I'd missed. woke up to actual daylight, still half listening for that crow."

"This dream reflects a moment of disorienting authority, where a loud, insistent presence interrupts the ordinary flow of life and demands your attention. The rooster's crowing and following suggest an inner call to wake up to something you've been ignoring, while the shifting light and disappearance leave you questioning what you missed."

Insight

When the ordinary world is interrupted by something absurd and commanding, it may be your own deeper knowing trying to crow its way into your awareness. The confusion you feel is not a failure but a threshold—between what you thought you knew and what is asking to be recognized. Pay attention to what follows you, even after it vanishes.
