Graduated from the bread Class

"I was sitting in a classroom again, and this time it was a bread-making class. Flour dusted the tables, and the room smelled warm and yeasty. I settled in and listened for a while, as if I had never left. Then it hit me. I had already graduated. I didn't need to be here. I stood up and told the teacher, "I've graduated, so I don't need to be in this class." The teacher nodded, and nobody tried to stop me. I walked out feeling light. Outside, the dream turned strange, the way dreams do. My boyfriend was suddenly beside me, and somehow we were floating up into space, trying to reach the top of a building. It made perfect sense at the time, even though the details were hazy. When I woke up, I felt amused and a little puzzled, thinking about the bread class and the trip to space. Underneath that was a quiet sense of relief and freedom, knowing I really don't have to go back."
