"I was walking in the tall grass. The sun was hot. I heard a low growl. I stopped. A lion stood in front of me. It was huge. Its eyes were yellow. It stared at me. I could not move. I was so scared. The lion took a step closer. I stepped back. It growled again. Louder this time. I wanted to run. But I knew it would chase me. I stood very still. I did not breathe. The lion came closer. I could smell its breath. It opened its mouth. Its teeth were sharp. I closed my eyes. I waited for the end. But nothing happened. I opened my eyes. The lion was gone. The grass was empty. I ran home as fast as I could. Then I woke up. I was sweating. I checked my room. No lion was there. I felt so relieved. I stayed in bed all morning."

Jungian Analysis
Core Theme

"This dream centers on confronting a powerful instinctual fear, symbolized by the lion, and discovering that the dreaded encounter does not destroy you. It reflects the archetypal shadow and the body's freeze response, where stillness becomes a form of surrender rather than weakness. The lion's disappearance suggests that facing fear consciously can dissolve its grip and return you to safety."

Hidden Emotions and Symbols

✦ Tall Grass

Represents the hidden unconscious where instinctual forces and unknown emotions move unseen.

✦ Lion

Embodies the archetypal shadow, raw power, instinct, and the feared inner authority you must face.

✦ Yellow Eyes

Reflects piercing intuition and the animal gaze that sees through your ego defenses.

✦ Standing Still

Indicates a freeze response that becomes mindful surrender and acceptance of the encounter.

✦ Lion Vanishing

Suggests the feared threat was psychological, and confronting it dissolves its power.

Wisdom

Practice meeting your fears with grounded stillness rather than blind flight, because the threat often loses power when you stop resisting it. Notice what the lion represents in your waking life, such as anger, instinct, authority, or desire, and give it conscious attention. After intense inner encounters, honor your need for rest and safety as you integrate the lesson.
