"Last night, I had a dream about a window. In my dream, I woke up in my room. But something was different. On the wall where my bookshelf used to be, there was now a big window. It had never been there before. Sunlight came through it. Not the normal sunlight. This light was golden and soft, like honey. I walked to the window and looked out. There was no city. No cars. No noise. Instead, I saw a green valley. Tall mountains touched the sky. A small river shined like a silver ribbon. Wildflowers covered the hills in purple and yellow. A gentle wind came through the window. It smelled like grass and rain. I opened the window. No screen, no glass. Just fresh, cool air. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. My chest felt wide open. My worries melted like ice in the sun. A bird landed on the window frame. It was small and blue. It looked at me with tiny black eyes. Then it sang. The song was so clear and sweet, I wanted to cry. I sat on the windowsill, my legs hanging outside. The air held me like invisible hands. I was not afraid of falling. I knew the wind would catch me. For the first time in years, my mind was quiet. No to-do lists. No stress. No noise. Just the valley, the river, and the little blue bird. "Stay here," the wind seemed to say. "Stay forever." I wanted to. More than anything. Then I woke up. My room was dark and small. My bookshelf stood where it always stood. No window. No valley. But I opened my real window anyway. The city air smelled of rain. And somewhere in the distance, I swear I heard a little bird singing."
