Hiding From the Unknown Dark House Meaning & Interpretation

"I was inside a large house that I had never seen before. It was late at night, and the rooms were dark except for a small amount of light coming through the windows. I could hear someone moving around downstairs, and I immediately felt that I needed to hide. I did not know who the person was or why they were looking for me. I quietly walked into a bedroom and hid behind a large curtain. I tried to remain completely still, even though my heart was beating very fast. I could hear footsteps slowly coming up the stairs. The footsteps stopped outside the bedroom door. I held my breath as the door opened. Someone entered the room and began looking around. I could see their shadow moving across the floor through a small gap in the curtain. I was terrified that they would discover me. After several moments, the person walked out and closed the door. I waited quietly before leaving my hiding place. I moved through the hallway and found another room with a small closet. I hid inside and pulled the door almost completely closed. Then I heard the footsteps returning. I stayed inside the closet, afraid to make even the smallest sound. After what felt like a very long time, everything became silent. I finally opened the door and saw that the house was empty. I woke up feeling relieved but still nervous, wondering who had been searching for me and why I had been so desperate to hide."
