"I dreamed that I went to my girlfriend’s house one evening because I wanted to surprise her. When I arrived, everything seemed unusually quiet. I walked toward her bedroom and heard voices coming from inside. When I opened the door, I saw my girlfriend with another boy. I immediately realized that she had been unfaithful to me. A sudden wave of fear came over me. I could not believe what I was seeing, and for several seconds I could not move or speak. My girlfriend looked shocked when she saw me. The boy quickly stood up and moved away, while she tried to explain what had happened. I asked her why she had lied to me and whether she still cared about our relationship. She began crying and said that she was sorry, but I felt too hurt and frightened to listen. I kept wondering how long this had been happening and whether I had failed to notice the warning signs. I walked outside and sat alone on the steps. The night seemed unusually dark, and I felt as though everything I had trusted had suddenly disappeared. I was afraid of losing her, but I was also afraid that I could never trust her again. Then I woke up suddenly. My heart was beating quickly, and I felt relieved to realize that it had only been a dream.
