The Hungry Presence in the Night Kitchen Meaning & Interpretation

"I was walking into my kitchen late at night. The house was quiet, and all the lights were off. I turned on the kitchen light and saw a plate of food on the table. I did not remember putting it there. I walked closer and noticed that the food was still warm. I looked around the kitchen, but nobody was there. Then I heard a soft sound coming from the refrigerator. I opened the refrigerator, but there was nothing unusual inside. I closed the door and heard the sound again. This time, it sounded like someone was whispering my name. I became scared and stepped back. Suddenly, the kitchen light went off. I stood in the dark and heard a chair move across the floor. I quickly turned on the light again. The chair was now sitting next to me. I looked at the kitchen table. The plate of food was gone. Then I saw a message written on the table in red: **“I AM HUNGRY.”** I wanted to run, but the kitchen door slowly closed by itself. Then I heard someone breathing right behind me. I turned around, but nobody was there. When I looked back at the table, the plate of food was there again, and someone was sitting in the chair. I could not see the person's face. Then I woke up."
