Black dog in an unfamiliar House: Shadow at the threshold

"I dreamed about a black dog last night. I was standing outside a house I somehow knew was mine, although it looked nothing like my real house. The dog was sitting near the front door and just watching me. It was completely still. I remember feeling nervous before it even did anything. I tried to walk past it, but it suddenly stood up and followed me. I wasn't exactly running from it, but I kept walking faster. Then I was inside the house and the dog was somehow already there. I don't remember seeing it come in. It walked into the hallway and stopped beside a bedroom door. I wanted to call someone, but I couldn't think of anyone to call. The dog looked back at me and its eyes seemed almost human. Then the hallway became much longer, like it was stretching away from me. I woke up before I reached the dog, and I still had that uneasy feeling for a while."
