The Doppelganger's Warning: Confronting the Meaning & Interpretation

"I woke up in my room. Everything looked normal. But my bed was empty. I was standing by the window. I looked at the bed. Someone was sleeping there. It was me. I tried to wake myself up. I shook my own shoulder. Nothing. My other self opened its eyes. They were completely black. It smiled. Its teeth were sharp. It sat up and pointed at me. Its mouth opened wide. No sound came out. But I knew what it said. "Your turn to disappear." I ran to the door. It wouldn't open. I turned around. My other self was gone. Then I felt cold hands on my neck. I woke up for real. I checked my bed. I was alone. But I didn't sleep again that night."
