Dying on a silent Pier: A Dream of peaceful Surrender

"I was standing on the edge of a tall, concrete pier jutting out into a completely motionless lake, trying to fix a broken shoelace so I wouldn't miss a flight I didn't even have a ticket for. Suddenly, the sky didn't turn dark, but this soft, heavy shadow just fell over everything, like someone pulled a velvet sheet over the sun. I knew right then, without anyone telling me, that my heart had just stopped beating and I was dying. There was no pain or panic at all-just this massive, lingering sigh that seemed to echo out of my chest. I sat down on the cold edge of the pier and let my legs dangle over the water.
