Lost in a shifting Neighborhood of the mind

"I was trying to get somewhere, but I couldn't remember where. I was walking through a place that looked familiar, maybe an old neighborhood, but the streets kept changing. I would turn a corner and suddenly be somewhere completely different. At one point I realized I had forgotten my phone. I started going back for it, then somehow I was already holding it. There were several missed calls, but none of the names looked familiar. Then I was sitting at a table with a few people I knew. Everyone was talking and laughing, but I couldn't hear what anyone was saying. I felt like I was supposed to respond, so I smiled even though I had no idea what was happening. The next thing I remember, I was standing alone outside my childhood home. I had this strong feeling that I needed to go inside, but I couldn't remember why. I opened the door and woke up before I could see what was there."
