"I was at my old middle school but also a grocery store. Trying to pay for a bruised apple. Cashier was my third grade teacher with a golden retriever face. Whatever. I opened my mouth to ask for change and pop. Just two bottom teeth. Not all of them, just the two on the left. Didn't hurt at all. Just slid out onto the counter. Wasn't even scared, just super annoyed thought I'd have to pay for them too. Then suddenly I'm on a night bus. Teeth are in my jacket pocket but feel like wet jellybeans. Kept trying to spit them out but stuck to my tongue. Woke up checking my mouth."

Jungian Analysis
Core Theme

"This dream reflects a moment of disorienting transition where familiar structures (school, store) blur, and a small, painless loss (teeth) becomes a source of annoyance rather than fear. The shift to a night bus and the persistent, sticky teeth suggest a lingering sense of unresolved change and the mind's attempt to process a subtle shift in identity or control."

Hidden Emotions and Symbols

✦ Old Middle School

Represents a return to a formative environment where old lessons and social dynamics still echo.

✦ Bruised Apple

Reflects a flawed or damaged offering, perhaps a sense of imperfect value or a small burden you're trying to manage.

✦ Cashier With Golden Retriever Face

Indicates a friendly, non-threatening authority figure who may represent a gentle but indifferent gatekeeper.

✦ Loose Teeth

Signify a loss of power, control, or speech, but without pain, suggesting the change is more annoying than traumatic.

✦ Night Bus

Reflects a journey through uncertainty or darkness, where you are a passenger rather than the driver, moving toward an unknown destination.

Wisdom

Even when small pieces of you seem to slip away without warning, the absence may not be a catastrophe but a curious shift. The annoyance you feel is a sign that you are still engaged, still trying to make sense of the fare. Trust that what falls away was ready to go, and what remains—sticky, strange, and alive—is still yours to carry.
