"I was on a small boat with someone I couldn't quite recognize. The sea was calm, almost too calm, and then I saw a black fin cutting through the water. A killer whale came up beside us, so close I could see its white patches clearly. I wanted to take a picture, but my hands were shaking and my phone kept slipping away. Then another whale appeared, and another. They started swimming in circles around the boat. Nobody else seemed worried, which made me feel even stranger. One of them suddenly lifted its huge head out of the water and stared right at me. I thought it was going to knock us over, but instead it made a sound that felt almost familiar. Somehow I was suddenly standing on a beach, still holding the boat's steering wheel. The whales were swimming in the shallow water near my feet. I wanted to leave, but I also didn't want them to disappear."
