The two Cats on the couch

"I was in a living room that was sort of mine, afternoon light coming through blinds that weren't mine at all, and there were two cats on the couch, a gray one and an orange one, neither of which I own. I didn't ask where they came from. I just sat down between them like I'd always done that. The gray one curled into my lap and started purring, loud, almost like a small engine, and the orange one stretched across the back of the couch behind my head, tail flicking against my shoulder now and then. Nobody wanted anything from me. I remember my breathing slowing down without trying. At some point I looked down and they'd switched, the orange one in my lap now, gray one gone from the couch, then back again, and it didn't register as strange. I was just stroking fur, warm and soft, thinking about nothing at all. The room got dimmer slowly, the way a room does when clouds pass. Woke up with my hand resting open on the blanket, still feeling that warmth."
