The unremembered Pregnancy and the water-Filled phone

"I was in the bathroom and something was wrong. I looked down and I was pregnant, like obviously, like nine months. I don't remember getting pregnant. I just was. Then the cramping started. Not the sharp kind. More like waves, rolling through. I knew what it was immediately even though I've never done this. I grabbed the sink and breathed the way they do in movies. I tried to call someone but the phone was full of water. I kept shaking it out. Still water. Then I was in the car, driving myself, which seems insane in hindsight. The seat was pushed way back. I had to lean forward to reach the wheel. Contractions. Red light. Contractions. I got to the hospital and walked in and nobody looked at me. The desk lady said "name" and I couldn't remember mine. I stood there trying to think of it while another wave came. I woke up before anything happened. Just the feeling. Lay there with my hand on my stomach, flat, empty, normal. Stayed that way a while. Then coffee. Then work. Didn't tell anyone."
