"I was standing in front of my high school locker trying to unlock it with a set of house keys, but I kept running late for a bus I didn't even have a ticket for. I reached up to push a strand of hair behind my ear, and my hand came away with a massive, heavy clump of dark hair tangled between my fingers. Panicking, I ran into a dimly lit public restroom to look in the mirror. I gently ran my fingers through my hair again, but entire handfuls just kept sliding right off my scalp without any pain at all, leaving these smooth, cold patches on the top of my head. I tried desperately to stick the loose clumps back onto my hair before anyone walked in, but they kept slipping through my hands like wet straw. Suddenly the bathroom vanished and I was sitting on a bench in an empty train station in the rain, holding a paper bag overflowing with my own hair, this sickening, cold weight of absolute terror settled deep in my stomach."

Insight

The dream reveals that you are grappling with a profound fear of losing yourself—your strength, your identity, or your sense of belonging. The hair falling out without pain suggests that the loss feels effortless yet devastating, as if parts of you are detaching without your consent. The missed bus and wrong keys point to a feeling of being unprepared for a transition you never chose. Yet the dream also invites you to acknowledge that some losses cannot be glued back; they must be grieved. Only by facing the cold terror in that empty station can you begin to reclaim what remains and rebuild from a place of honest vulnerability.
