Reunion with a childhood Friend

"She reappeared in my life, an old friend from primary school I hadn't thought about in years. We had been close at six or seven, sharing the same teacher and the simple, easy friendship of children, but we had drifted apart long ago. In the dream, we started talking, and we couldn't stop. We talked for hours, and everything clicked. It felt as though we were extremely compatible. We weren't starting from zero, because we shared that common root from childhood, yet we were also discovering each other as new people. It was a strange mix of familiarity and novelty, and it felt intense and good. When I woke up, a warm, glowing feeling stayed with me. I lay there a little surprised, wondering why my mind had brought her back after so long. I felt happy and curious, and a bit wistful that the connection had only been a dream."
