"So it's my wedding day. Supposedly. And I'm in a hotel room getting ready, except I'm not getting ready, I'm just sitting on the bed watching TV. And I know the ceremony's supposed to start soon but I can't remember what time and I can't find my phone and the TV's playing some cooking show and I'm just watching it.
My mom came in and said "you're not dressed" and I said "I know" and kept watching the cooking show. She started panicking, pulling stuff out of bags, and I'm watching this guy on TV flambe something and I'm thinking "that looks good." Not stressed. Not excited. Just watching. She kept saying "the guests are here, the guests are here" and I'm like "okay, I'll be down in a minute."
I went down eventually. But when I got to the lobby it was a completely different hotel. Different wedding. Some other couple I'd never seen and I'm standing in the back in my regular clothes watching these strangers get married and everyone's crying and happy and I'm just standing there with my hands in my pockets. And I thought "wait, where's mine" but I couldn't find anyone I knew and I couldn't find the room and I just stood there.
Somebody handed me a plate of food. Reception food. Little sandwiches and stuff. And I ate one. Standing in the back of a stranger's wedding. And it was good. I remember it was good. And I thought "I should find my own wedding" and I walked out into a hallway and the hallway turned into another hallway and I opened doors and they were all just closets and hotel rooms and empty conference rooms with chairs stacked against the wall.
I woke up and checked my left hand. No ring. Obviously. I'm not even engaged. Lay there for a while trying to figure out who I was supposed to be marrying. Never figured it out. Never saw a groom. Never saw a dress. Just me and a cooking show and a plate of little sandwiches. Made myself a sandwich for breakfast. Ate it standing up. Felt weirdly fine about the whole thing."
Core Theme
"This dream centers on the archetype of the wedding as a rite of passage and inner union, yet your dreaming self remains passive and detached from it. It suggests a tension between social expectations of commitment and your own unreadiness or unwillingness to perform a prescribed life milestone. The dream invites individuation by asking you to stop waiting for an external ceremony and instead find the inner rooms where your own meaning is built."

Wisdom
Honor your own timing instead of measuring yourself against a ceremonial timeline that may not fit. Notice where you are watching life like a cooking show and choose one small act of participation. The absence of a ring or groom is not a lack but an open space; explore your inner hallways and decide what you truly want to commit to.
