Rising water in house Dream: Meaning and symbolism

"I was in my house and there was water on the floor. I don't know where it was coming from. At first it was only around my feet, so I wasn't too worried about it. Then somehow I was in the kitchen and the water was much higher. I was trying to move some things off the table. I remember being annoyed about a bag that was getting wet. That part seemed very important in the dream for some reason. Then I was outside. There was water everywhere, almost like the whole street had turned into a river. I could see a few cars floating past. Someone was calling me from somewhere, but I couldn't see who it was. I tried to walk toward them, but suddenly the water was up to my chest. I remember thinking I should turn around, but I didn't know where home was anymore. Then I was sitting on a dry chair in the middle of the water. Everything was quiet. I woke up before I could figure out how I got there."
