The light Switch that Wouldn't work

"I was in my apartment, reaching for the light switch because everything had gone dark. I could feel it click, but nothing changed. I even held my phone right up to my face and couldn't see the screen. Someone was in the kitchen washing dishes. I was pretty sure it was my mom, although she doesn't live with me. I didn't want her to know I couldn't see, so I tried to walk over like normal and bumped into a chair that shouldn't have been there. She asked if I was okay, and I said yes. Then I was outside at a bus stop, still in my socks. I knew the bus had arrived from the sound of its doors, but I couldn't tell where they were. A stranger took my elbow and guided me forward. I remember being embarrassed, then suddenly so relieved that I almost cried. I woke up with my hand stretched out, feeling for the wall."
