"I dreamed I was driving down this long hill near my old house, and when I pressed the brake pedal it just went straight to the floor. No resistance, nothing. The car kept speeding up and I remember thinking, weirdly calmly, that I should probably turn the engine off, but I couldn't remember if that was actually a thing you do. The road kept getting narrower and there were cars parked on both sides. I was trying to steer around them but the wheel felt loose, like it wasn't fully connected. At some point I was no longer in my car—I was in the passenger seat and nobody was driving, but the car was still going. Then the road turned into a parking lot and the car slowed down on its own right before hitting a shopping cart. I woke up before it fully stopped. My leg was all tense like I'd still been pressing the brake in real life."
