"I was sitting in my old bedroom trying to study for a driving test, but the pages of the textbook kept turning into thin cardboard. I heard this faint, dry scratchy sound behind the headboard, like paper rubbing together. When I pulled the bed an inch away from the wall, dozens of shiny black beetles and long, legged centipedes came pouring out from a tiny crack in the baseboard. They weren't biting or anything, but they were swarming everywhere in soft, frantic waves over my rug, and I felt this sickening, crawling terror in my chest. I tried to jump onto a chair to get away, but my knees wouldn't bend, like my legs were completely paralyzed. Then suddenly I was standing in a crowded grocery store holding a clear plastic bag full of dry leaves, but I could feel hundreds of tiny legs wriggling against my palm through the thin plastic. I dropped the bag on the floor and froze, completely suffocated by the feeling that they were already crawling under my clothes."

Jungian Analysis
Core Theme

"This dream reflects a moment of paralysis when the familiar structures of your life—study, home, and routine—begin to dissolve into something uncontrollable. The swarming insects and the inability to move suggest a deep-seated fear of being overwhelmed by small, persistent anxieties that you cannot escape, even when you try to change your environment."
