"I was at a lake with a group of people I didn't really know, though I felt like I should have. Someone pointed toward the water and said a kid was out there. I didn't even think—I just jumped in, clothes and all. The water was colder than I expected, and I couldn't see the child at first. I kept swimming in circles, calling out, but my voice sounded weird underwater. Then I saw a small hand come up near a floating platform, and I swam as fast as I could. I grabbed the kid, but they were heavier than I thought they'd be. I remember panicking because I didn't know if I could keep both of us up. At some point I was holding them above water while I sank a little, and I remember thinking, just keep kicking. I woke up before we reached the shore, still feeling that tightness in my chest like I hadn't fully made it."

Hidden Emotions and Symbols

✦ Lake

Represents the unconscious mind and emotional depths that hold both danger and the potential for rescue.

✦ Child

Signifies vulnerability, innocence, and a part of yourself or another that needs saving.

✦ Cold Water

Reflects the shock of sudden responsibility and the emotional chill of facing an unexpected crisis.

✦ Sinking While Holding Child

✦ Unreached Shore

Reflection

True courage is not the absence of fear but the decision to act despite it. You jumped in without hesitation, and even as you sank, you kept kicking. That instinct to protect is a strength, but the dream also asks you to consider: who rescues the rescuer? The tightness in your chest may be a reminder that you do not have to carry every burden alone, and that reaching the shore is not a solo journey.
