The haircut That taught Me control

"I asked one of my friends to cut my hair. I sat down and trusted them, but something went wrong. They cut an inch above the root and left me with really short micro bangs. "Stop," I told them, and they did. I went home and cried. Then I picked up the scissors myself and finished the haircut. The whole top of my head was already cut, so I trimmed the rest short all the way around until it was even. When I woke up, I felt sad yet satisfied, as if I had lost something but taken control of it. I touched my hair right away and was relieved to find it still there, though part of me liked the idea of the change."
