"A bird got into my house somehow. A little brown one, sparrow-sized, and it was just loose in my living room, flying from curtain rod to lamp to the top of a bookshelf. I don't know how it got in. The doors were closed, windows shut, and yet there it was. I spent what felt like forever just standing in the middle of the room holding a towel, like the towel was some kind of plan.
Every time it landed I'd creep toward it, and right when I got close enough it would take off again, this panicked flutter of wings, and I'd duck like it was attacking me even though it wasn't. It was just scared, same as me honestly. At some point there were two of them, then three. The dream just quietly added more birds without explaining it and I accepted this, like of course the bird count is increasing, that's just how afternoons go.
My cat was in the dream too, sleeping on the couch through all of it. Completely useless. I remember yelling at her, actual words, "you had ONE job," and she didn't even open her eyes. Somehow this was the most frustrating part of the whole dream. The birds flying around, fine, whatever. My own cat ignoring me, unforgivable.
The birds kept landing on things and knocking them over. A picture frame. A plant. Little poops appearing on surfaces in real time, which grossed me out so much I woke up for a second, then fell right back into the same dream, same room, same birds. Even my brain was like "no, we're finishing this."
Toward the end one of them landed on my shoulder and just sat there. I froze completely, holding my breath, and it was so light I could barely feel it, just this tiny warmth through my shirt. And I remember thinking, very clearly, "I'm going to have to keep it now, that's the rule." I don't know what rule. Some dream rule.
Then they were all gone at once, all of them, like someone hit a switch. Just me standing in the quiet living room with a towel in my hands and no memory of how any of it started. Woke up and the first thing I did was listen for bird sounds. Nothing. Checked behind the curtains anyway."
Core Theme
"This dream reflects a spiritual message or responsibility entering your private inner world without warning. The birds symbolize small, lively truths or concerns that multiply when you try to control them, while the sleeping cat mirrors a part of you that refuses to engage. Ultimately, the bird on your shoulder suggests that peace comes not from chasing or capturing, but from accepting what has chosen to rest on you."

Guidance
Do not try to chase or trap every thought that enters your mind; sit quietly and let the small, persistent message land. Notice which inner concern keeps returning, and care for it with calm attention rather than a makeshift towel of control. When you stop resisting, the fluttering may settle, and you can discern what truly belongs with you.
