"So I'm holding this baby. And it's fine, it's cute, normal baby, and I'm doing the thing where you bounce them a little and go "shh shh shh" and I'm pretty proud of myself honestly because the baby's calm and I'm thinking "I'm good at this, why don't I do this more" and then I look down and it's a different baby. Different face. Different everything. Same blanket though. Same little yellow blanket.
I didn't panic. That's what's weird. I just adjusted my grip and kept bouncing. Like "okay, new baby, cool." And the baby was smiling at me, gummy smile, and I smiled back, and then I looked away for one second to check the time and when I looked back it was a different baby again. And again. And again. Every time I blinked. Different babies. All happy though. All smiling.
Then I realized I didn't know where the parents were. Or whose baby this even was. Or if I was supposed to be here at all. I'm walking around this house, which I've never been in, and there's baby stuff everywhere, toys and bottles and one of those mats with the dangly things, and I'm calling out "hello?" and nobody answers, and the baby in my arms just keeps changing, keeps smiling, and I'm like "do you know where your mom is" which is a ridiculous thing to ask a baby.
I found a crib eventually. In a room that was also a laundromat for some reason. And I put the baby down, whatever baby it was at that point, and it just looked up at me and I felt this weird pang. Not sad exactly. Just this "wait, should I stay" feeling. And I stood there for a while with my hand on the crib rail, watching this baby sleep, and I couldn't remember its face the second I looked away. Not even a little.
I woke up and my arms were asleep. Both of them. Pins and needles. Like I'd actually been holding something all night. Lay there shaking them out and thinking about that yellow blanket and how I never found out whose baby it was. Or if it was even one baby. Or if I was supposed to be worried. I still don't know."
Core Theme
"This dream brings you into contact with the divine child archetype, a symbol of new potential, innocence, and the future self emerging from the collective unconscious. The baby's shifting faces while the yellow blanket stays the same suggests that your essential Self endures even as identities, roles, and possibilities change. Your calm adjustment and eventual question of whether to stay point to an individuation task: learning to care for what is present without needing to possess or fully know it."

Wisdom
You do not need to identify every baby, parent, or room to do the work of holding what is vulnerable in you. Practice staying present with changing inner states without panic, and notice when your body signals that you have been carrying something all night. Individuation asks you to care for potential, then release it to its own crib when the time comes, trusting that the yellow blanket of Self remains.
