Waiting for dryers With a heavy Pregnancy belly

"I was standing in front of a big row of industrial dryers, waiting for a cycle to finish even though I didn't bring any laundry with me. I looked down and my shirt was stretched tight over a big, solid belly bump, like eight months along. I ran a hand over it--it was just firm and heavy, pulling down on my lower back. I didn't wonder who the father was or when I was due or anything, it was just an established fact. A lady in a yellow cardigan came out of the back room and handed me a plastic cup of lukewarm tap water. I took a sip and the scene just cut to me sitting on a folding chair in an empty bank lobby. The floor was wet like someone had just mopped. My stomach was still there, resting in my lap like a bowling ball, and I spent five minutes trying to line up the edge of my shoe with a crack in the linoleum tile. No panic about baby stuff, no feeling happy or scared, just total flatness. Someone knocked on the glass door to say the lobby was closed, so I stood up, feeling the heavy shift in my center of gravity, and walked out to the parking lot. Woke up on my side with my arm wrapped around a pillow."
