Crabs in shoes: Dream meaning of confusion and avoidance

"I was walking along a beach with my shoes on, even though the sand was wet and kept getting inside them. At first I thought the little clicking sounds were shells, but then I looked down and saw crabs moving around my feet. I tried to step away, but they followed me. One crawled into my shoe, and I remember shaking my leg so hard I almost fell over. I took the shoe off and poured it out, but there was another one inside my sock. Then I was suddenly in a kitchen, standing on a chair while crabs covered the floor. They were different sizes, some tiny and pale and some with huge claws. My dad was at the table eating dinner and told me not to worry because they were "just passing through." I asked how they got inside, and he pointed toward the sink. Water was running from the faucet, but instead of going down the drain, it was filling the whole room. The crabs were floating now. Somehow I ended up back on the beach, barefoot. I could feel something hard under the sand and didn't want to look. Then a crab grabbed the edge of my shirt and started pulling me toward the water.
